What is Periodontal Disease?
We like to educate our patients so they realize that the health of their teeth is dependent on the health of their gums. We will tell you immediately if we see any signs of gum disease. We will then work with you to help you improve your at-home care to eliminate future problems.
When gum (periodontal) disease is advanced, we can help with a treatment called scaling and root planing to address the problems under the gums. We can also provide surgical treatment to return your gums to complete health.
Signs of Gum Disease
Medical research shows that gum disease, left untreated, may lead to serious overall health issues including heart disease, stroke and diabetes.
That’s why it’s important to come in for regular checkups and professional teeth-cleaning.
