Root canal therapy is a way we can preserve a tooth that has been injured or suffered deep decay or infection. Once infection or decay reaches the soft inner tissues of a tooth, the tooth often begins to ache, sometimes with a severe pulsing pain. The soft inner tissues must be removed and replaced with sterile material.
While some patients are anxious about this procedure, we take our time and proceed in a very gentle fashion. We encourage our patient to ask us to pause if they are not comfortable.
With a gentle touch and calm manner, we find that it is possible to offer this procedure even to patients who may be very apprehensive about dental care.
