After growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, Dr. Calvo got his first job working in a bank where he discovered banking was not for him. He then graduated cum laude from the University of California, San Diego, before being accepted to the UCLA School of Dentistry. After achieving his DDS, he moved to Las Vegas to continue his training at the University of Nevada School of Medicine Advanced Dental Residency program. In this program, he received extensive training in advanced dental procedures including implant placement, oral surgery techniques and cosmetic dentistry. He began practicing in 2006.

"I have a passion for all aspects of dentistry,” says Dr. Calvo. “I am dedicated to delivering a high quality of care and service to all my patients. Many people have a negative impression about dental visits. I enjoy being able to improve my patients’ oral health and smiles while also changing their outlook on dental care by providing a more positive and enjoyable experience.”

Dr. Calvo is married to Dr. Abalos and they have two sons. He enjoys playing basketball, snowboarding, traveling and spending time with his wife and two boys.

Dr. Calvo is a member of the American Dental Association, Southern Nevada Dental Society, Las Vegas Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry.

Hometown: Castro Valley, Bay Area California.

The first job I ever had: I used to work at a bank, Washington Mutual, now Chase bank, adding up checks that were deposited into the ATM machine.

Why did you decide on the dental field? Love helping people, working with my hands, and changing lives positively.

Hobbies and interests: Love playing basketball, love dentistry and Sunbrite Family, enjoy my two boys and traveling around the world, meeting people and making people smile.

What is something people don’t know about you? I won my elementary spelling bee contest when I was 10 years old.

What is your favorite food? Steak!!
